Chart of accounts and numbering
Laid out for the foreseeable structure, not the current one. A second entity, a second currency or a second standard should stay a configuration question.

Seven applications that Zoho explicitly builds as one suite — and an entry that may begin with just one of them. This page shows which application is responsible for what, how a transaction runs through, and what an implementation realistically involves.
Six decisions. Software makes none of them — it executes them.
Laid out for the foreseeable structure, not the current one. A second entity, a second currency or a second standard should stay a configuration question.
The goal is a close where the numbers are in the system and the work is review. A reconciliation list is fine as long as it checks rather than constructs.
Approval paths, roles and traceability from document to posting. That is the basis on which an examination is possible at all.
How many units, which intercompany transactions, which consolidated view. Whether and how far Zoho carries consolidation itself we verify for your case — we make no blanket promise here.
Which valuation method the books should reflect, and whether every stock movement produces the matching posting. That decides whether stock movement and cost of materials sit in the system at month end or get recalculated. Which methods your plan covers we check beforehand.
Bank, payment provider, open items, stock: for each of those it must be settled where the match comes from and who owns it. A reconciliation built by hand every month is the item that most reliably costs time at the close.
Zoho describes its finance applications as built from the ground up for each other. That does not replace the question of which ones you actually need.
Originates in the shop, in sales or in inventory.
CommerceCRMInventoryProduced from the order, or recurring for subscription models.
BooksBillingMeets the open item; dunning follows a rule rather than a reminder.
BooksBillingCheckoutTravel and expenses with approval before they reach the ledger.
ExpenseLedger, tax, audit trail, stock valuation.
BooksInventoryReconciliation, review, reporting, hand-off to your tax adviser.
BooksNot every one of these hand-offs is documented by Zoho on its own integration page. Evidenced and nameable are Books ↔ Inventory, Commerce ↔ Inventory, Commerce ↔ Books and Books ↔ CRM. For the rest, Zoho’s suite statement applies that the finance applications are built for each other — we verify the exact scope before committing to it.
If you want to know which of these decisions actually applies to you: thirty minutes are enough for a first read that holds.
Book a call“A straightforward start” is true — for some cases. We tell you upfront which one you are in, rather than discovering it during the project.
Books on its own, for example: chart of accounts, tax rates, bank connection, master-data import, document templates. A manageable start.
CRM + Books, or Commerce + Inventory + Books. Additionally: enable the integration, map fields, settle sync direction and duplicate rules. Zoho requires the Professional plan or higher for CRM. Still well plannable.
Four or more applications. From here process design becomes necessary: where the order originates, where the invoice does, who owns master data. That is a project, and we call it one.
Roles, permissions, user administration, application selection, replacing existing tools, change in daily work. That is a programme rather than a start — we cover it on its own page.
Yes, and in many cases that is exactly the right route. Books carries the ledger, tax, bank reconciliation and close. Everything else connects later — Inventory and CRM through connections Zoho documents. You are not buying into a dead end.
Multiple organisations are provided for in Zoho; how far consolidation across several entities under differing reporting standards holds we could not settle from official sources, and therefore do not promise it. We treat it as an architecture question: if your structure leaves the frame, we say so — NetSuite and Microsoft Dynamics are sister business units in the same group.
Zoho brings several finance applications together under Finance Plus. Which applications your specific order covers depends on the vendor’s current packaging — we check that with you before ordering rather than asserting a list here that can change.
Yes. Zoho names the Professional plan or higher as a prerequisite for integrating CRM with Books. That belongs in the costing before the connection is planned — otherwise you are selling a hand-off the base plan does not have.
No. For Checkout, Zoho explicitly notes that a payment gateway must be set up. Checkout provides the payment page, not the payment processing itself.
Thirty minutes on your position: which area first, which structure, which close, which German requirements. Afterwards you will know what a start begins with in your case — and what it does not cover.
