Subscriptions, prorated and usage-based billing, dunning runs and open items. The difference between billing that produces invoices and billing that also carries the accounting usually only shows up at the third month-end.
From Zoho’s own product documentation. Which of them sit in your plan we check before implementation.
Recurring billing in fixed cycles, with management of contracts, terms and renewals. The standard case for software, maintenance and service contracts.
The case where billing fails in practice: a change of plan or user count mid-cycle. Is it prorated, credited or deferred — and how does accounting see it?
Billing by consumption rather than by period. The prerequisite is reliable usage measurement — which rarely comes from the billing system, and is therefore the point to settle first.
Dunning runs by rule rather than by memory. For accounting that is less a communication question than a receivables one: when does an open item get impaired and who decides that.
Which model, which term, which price — and where the contract is held.

Zoho lists usage-based billing as a Billing capability. The demanding part sits before it: the usage data has to be reliable and available at the right moment. If it comes from your own product, that is an integration task we estimate separately.
Not necessarily. Books issues invoices and manages receivables. Billing pays off when revenue recurs, changes mid-cycle or is measured by usage — that is, when the invoice follows a rule rather than a decision. We will tell you in conversation which side of that line you are on.
Zoho lists export of XRechnung and ZUGFeRD in its German pricing overview for Books, and places import in the Professional plan. How billing connects to that output path in your case belongs in the implementation plan.
No. Zoho explicitly notes that a payment gateway must be set up for Checkout. Checkout provides the payment page; processing sits with the provider you choose.
